Overview

RCH as it looked like in 1866, situated along the Fraser River.

Our mission is to help save lives, restore health and provide comfort, by raising funds which directly benefit patients at the Royal Columbian Hospital.

RCH has a proud tradition. As the first hospital in BC, the hospital’s Board of Management made an appeal back in 1863 to the “miners and other inhabitants of British Columbia” to contribute a portion of their gains “for the relief of their sick or wounded fellow colonists. The Hospital receives patients from every part of the Colony, without distinction of nationality or creed.”

The Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation was founded in 1978, to build on this longstanding tradition of caring and support from the community. Today, the Foundation raises over $5 million each year to fund life-saving and diagnostic equipment which benefit patients from across British Columbia.
