In memory of Matt Campfield

Matthew Laurence Campfield, “Matt” to his friends, is the beloved son of Darrell and Shauna, brother to Taylor, and grandson of Ted and Cheryl Murray, and Francis Campfield. He will be greatly missed by his girlfriend Alison, aunt, uncles, cousins and huge network of many, many friends.

Matt had a tremendous love of life and packed a lot of living into his short 22 years. He didn’t shy away from new or sudden challenges and quickly changed course in his life to take advantage of new opportunities. He built a huge number of relationships that he treasured and maintained, and he was loyal to his friends and family. They knew he had their back.

He was a huge sports fan. Through the course of his life he played and loved hockey, lacrosse, roller hockey, volleyball, soccer, snowboarding, baseball, basketball and football. He also loved to watch sports. He would find a game or a sports-related show every time he slowed down, and you could not find a more passionate New England Patriots fan anywhere. His favourite time of the year was football Sunday.

He was early in his career but had many accomplishments to be proud of, including obtaining both his C and B welding certification tickets. He was looking forward to getting his Red Seal. He had a great work ethic and was well respected wherever he worked.

He had developed a love of adventurous and courageous travel, including trips to both Korea and the Philippines. His wealth of relationships continued to grow in these places where he made a clear impact on people’s lives.

We will all miss his smile, laughter and sense of humour.
