New Westminster, B.C. – {March 22, 2022} – Queen’s Park Healthcare Foundation and Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation have announced the two registered charities will amalgamate on April 1, 2022 into a combined new entity, under the name of Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.
“The amalgamation is a strategic partnership between allied organizations to further the mission of raising funds for these healthcare facilities,” notes Queen’s Park Healthcare Foundation Chair Harry Bloy. “We wish to recognize and celebrate the amazing partnership and strong collaboration between the two foundations that have led to this achievement.”
The announcement comes after boards of both foundations approved the direction to amalgamate in June 2021. While the amalgamation marks an official end to the Queen’s Park Healthcare Foundation, Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation will work to support the needs of Queen’s Park Care Centre and William Rudd House. A Queen’s Park fund has been set up at Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation for donations to Queen’s Park Care Centre.
“The special fund ensures past and future donations meant for Queen’s Park Care Centre are restricted to Queen’s Park,” says Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation Chair Cameron Belsher. “Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation will work with Queen’s Park Care Centre for continued priority equipment, staff education, and other needs.”
The boards of both organizations extend their thanks to Queen’s Park Healthcare Foundation donors, sponsors, board members and staff for their time and contributions since the charity was established in 1983.
Where BC Fights
As BC’s leading critical care hospital, one in three British Columbians rely on Royal Columbian Hospital. This is where BC fights for hope, and for life. We are the only hospital in BC with trauma, cardiac, neurosciences, high-risk maternity and neonatal intensive care on one site. We look after some of the most seriously ill and injured patients, and we do it with the support of donors like you.
Since 1978, donors to Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation have helped fund priority equipment needs, facility enhancements, research, education and innovation at Royal Columbian Hospital.
