Donation ensures music continues in pediatrics


New Westminster, B.C. – {April 24, 2019} – A donation by Phoenix Truck & Crane is music to the ears of Royal Columbian Hospital’s pediatric department.

The gift of $23,920 to Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation by the freight and crane services company will support the ongoing use of a music therapist for children who are admitted to the hospital.

The benefits of a music therapist include elevating mood, encouraging communication and reducing anxiety.

The pediatrics department provides a high level of care to more than 1,000 children each year, from communities including Burnaby, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, New Westminster, Pitt Meadows, Port Moody and Port Coquitlam.
