Position Title: Event Specialist (Fixed-Term Contract)
DEPARTMENT: Office of the President and CEO
REPORTS TO: Senior Officer, Events & Sponsorships
SALARY RANGE: $29.74 to $38.97
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Temporary Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
This is a fixed term contract position from September 2025 to February 27, 2026. Joining a team of passionate, collaborative fundraisers supporting on of BC’s leading critical care hospitals, the Event Specialist will play an instrumental role in executing key strategies related to the opening of the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower. The Event Specialized will be primarily focused on supporting our fundraising efforts
through the planning and execution of both large-scale and intimate events.
ABOUT ROYAL COLUMBIAN HOSPITAL
Royal Columbian provides the highest level of care to the most critically ill and injured from throughout the region and province. We are a provincial referral center for cardiac care, trauma, neurosciences, high-risk maternity, neonatal intensive care, and mental health. No other hospital in the province provides all of these services, at this level of care, on one site.
Right now, Royal Columbian is undergoing a $1.49 billion multi-year, multi-phase redevelopment that will create a world-class critical care hospital. The “crown jewel” of this project is the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower, scheduled to open in 2025.

Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation (RCHF) is an independent charitable organization that raises millions of dollars each year to fund major projects, priority equipment needs, facility enhancements, research, education and innovation at RCH.

KEY AREAS OF INVOLEMENT:

- Organize and execute donor stewardship events
- Collaborate with event leads and marketing teams to maximize event attendance and fundraising goals
- Coordinate logistics including venues, vendors, and transportation, liaise with venue and vendors as required
- Work closely with donors, sponsors and partners to ensure event success
- Source event related needs such as vendors and entertainers
- Provide on-site support during events and troubleshoot as needed
- Collaborate with communications team on event collateral
- Support with raining and management of volunteers for events
- Work with event leads to ensure budgets, timelines and post event activities are maintained
- Evaluate event outcomes and recommend improvements
QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Event Management, preferably in a non-profit setting
- 3+ years of experience in event planning or coordination, preferably within the non-profit sector.

- Working knowledge of appropriate software applications such as Raiser’s Edge; ability to generate reports and queries
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
- Valid BC driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
- Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends, as required
