Happy 149th Birthday Royal Columbian Hospital!
New Westminster, B.C. – October 5, 2011
Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) Director, Site Operations Jason Cook and RCH Foundation President and CEO Adrienne Bakker blow out the candles on a birthday cake in celebration of the Royal Columbian Hospital’s 149th birthday on Friday, October 7th. RCH is the oldest hospital in B.C. and is a provincial centre and regional referral hospital providing specialized care for trauma, cardiac and neurosciences for 1.6 million people from Burnaby to Boston Bar and for seriously ill and injured people from across the province.
“The staff and physicians at RCH are immensely proud of the work they do to further this hospital’s legacy of expert care and compassion,” says Cook. “As British Columbia’s oldest hospital, it has cared for generations of patients, and continues to deliver the best in health care today.”
“Even though we’re happy to be celebrating RCH’s 149th birthday, we’re really looking forward to growing a year older,” says Bakker. “Next year is RCH’s 150th birthday – – and we are wishing that it will be a year for RCH like no other.”
Exciting plans to celebrate RCH’s 150th birthday in 2012 are well underway, featuring lots of community events and activities to mark this monumental milestone in B.C.’s history. For more information, please call 604.520.4438 or visit rchfoundation.com.
