New Westminster, B.C. – Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation is grateful to Launch Rehab for marking the 10-year anniversary of its North Burnaby location with a generous donation in support of physiotherapy services at Royal Columbian Hospital.
The gift reflects a strong personal and professional connection to Royal Columbian for managing partner Kelvin Yeung, whose ties to the hospital span his career and family life. “My first placement as a physio was at Royal Columbian, my wife worked here, and both of my kids were born here,” said Yeung. “Supporting the rehab team felt like a meaningful way to give back to a place that has given so much to our family and our community.”
Launch Rehab’s donation is directed to the hospital’s physiotherapy department, helping strengthen rehabilitation services at a time of major growth and redevelopment. With the opening of the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower, rehab services are expanding across the hospital, including new treatment rooms on most floors and dedicated storage spaces for specialized equipment.
“This generous donation will help us to rehab our rehab equipment so things are not just adequate, they are better for patients and staff,” said Stacey Rigby, Clinical Practice Leader, RCH Physiotherapy. She added that investments like this will reduce the need to share equipment, improve access to specialty tools, and better support patient recovery throughout the hospital.
For managing partner and community director Keane Leung, the donation reflects Launch Rehab’s commitment to giving back to the community that has supported the clinic over the past decade. “This was an opportunity to reinvest in the community that has supported us for 10 years and to support services that help people recover and return to movement,” said Lam.
Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation thanks Launch Rehab for its commitment to community health and for helping ensure patients receive high-quality rehabilitation care when they need it most.
