Position Title: Manager, Leadership Giving

SALARY RANGE: $72,000 – $85,000
Reporting to the Director, Leadership Giving, the Manager, Leadership Giving is a unique professional opportunity, combining both strategic program management and frontline fundraising. The incumbent will both build & execute the overall strategy for our sustaining giving portfolio (donors giving $1,000 to $9,999) while personally managing a portfolio of sustaining and leadership donors giving between $5,000 and $25,000.
ABOUT ROYAL COLUMBIAN HOSPITAL
Royal Columbian provides the highest level of care to the most critically ill and injured from throughout the region and province. We are a provincial referral centre for cardiac care, trauma, neurosciences, high-risk maternity, neonatal intensive care, and mental health. No other hospital in the province provides this level of care, or offers all these services, on one site or in such high volumes.
Right now, Royal Columbian is undergoing a $1.49 billion multi-year, multi-phase redevelopment that will create a world-class critical care hospital. The “crown jewel” of this project is the Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower, scheduled to open in 2025.

Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation (RCHF) is an independent charitable organization that raises millions of dollars each year to fund major projects, priority equipment needs, facility enhancements, research, education and innovation at RCH.
Supported by thousands of individuals, businesses, community groups and foundations, RCHF strives to achieve its vision to inspire giving and grow funding so that patients have access to the best in health care at Royal Columbian Hospital.
KEY AREAS OF INVOLEMENT:
This role encompasses the following key activities:
Leadership & Vision:

- Builds & executes the overall strategy for the sustaining giving portfolio on an annual basis, including establishing & achieving annual performance metrics.
- Works collaboratively with other frontline fundraisers to conduct regular analysis of the portfolio to determine the direction for upgraded solicitations, as well as targeted cultivation and stewardship activities.
- Develops & directs the strategy for the identification & conversion of current sustaining giving donors to leadership giving (gifts of $10K+).
Day-to-Day Execution:

- Proactively establishes the approach for a minimum of three annual appeals for the sustaining giving portfolio, while executing all related deliverables.
- Conducts all cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities for a portfolio of donors giving between $5,000 and $25,000, including scheduling 1:1 meetings & behind-the-scenes tours (as needed).
- Plans & executes all elements of the annual Chairman’s Circle Dinner, and additional cultivation & stewardship events (as needed).
- Plans & executes an annual impact report for the sustaining giving portfolio and supports the mail-out of other stewardship components.
Collaboration & Partnership:

- Proactively identifies sponsorship prospects for RCHF events & initiatives by attending networking events on a quarterly basis.
- Secures planned giving commitments from sustaining giving donors as appropriate.
- Works collaboratively with the Engagement pillar to identify patient stories for publication and determine activities to upgrade donors to the sustaining giving portfolio.
QUALIFICATIONS
CFRE designation and/or university degree with five years minimum experience or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience, with demonstrated success in a fundraising environment. Experience in a healthcare or post-secondary setting is an asset.

- Proficient in MS Office and general computer skills.
- Working knowledge of appropriate software applications such as Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Valid BC driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Willingness and ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
