Position Title: Manager, Physician Engagement

REPORTS TO: Vice President and Chief Development Officer
SALARY RANGE: $72,000 to $85,000
Joining a team of seasoned, passionate fundraisers supporting one of BC’s leading critical care hospitals, the Manager, Physician Engagement will play a leading role in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of physicians & clinical leaders giving more than $1,000 annually. This position will also be responsible for the development and execution of a grateful patient referral program at Royal Columbian Hospital.

Royal Columbian provides the highest level of care to the most critically ill and injured from throughout the region and province. We are a provincial referral centre for cardiac care, trauma, neurosciences, high-risk maternity, neonatal intensive care, and mental health. No other hospital in the province provides this level of care, or offers all these services, on one site or in such high volumes.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Vice-President & Chief Development Officer, the Manager, Physician Engagement will work strategically with our frontline fundraising team to retain, grow and enhance relationships with physicians & clinical leaders throughout RCH.
In addition, the incumbent will also play a leading role in executing a sustainable plan to encourage referrals of grateful patients from RCH physicians. These referrals include prospective mid-level, leadership and planned giving donors.
The Manager, Physician Engagement will be a passionate project manager, artfully executing all aspects of this critical portfolio. This will include both leading and supporting our frontline fundraising team to enhance our base of support among RCH’s valued physicians.
KEY AREAS OF INVOLVEMENT:
Physician Giving ($1,000+)

- Works closely with frontline fundraisers to manage all identification, cultivation and stewardship activities with physicians & other leading clinical staff throughout RCH giving $1,000 or more annually.
- Attends departmental meetings to build 1:1 relationships with physicians & clinical leaders throughout RCH.
- Proactively tracks all clinician engagement activities, conducts prospect research and analyzes data to assess trends & opportunities to grow this portfolio.
- Leads the development of the necessary tools to support all activities in this portfolio, including newsletters, annual appeals and other materials.
- Identifies physicians to participate in RCHF initiatives including marketing initiatives & special events.
Grateful Patient Giving

- Establishes a formal grateful patient giving program including:
- Building and implementing a strategic plan – with clear goals and deliverables – for an initiative centered around clinician referrals.
- Establishing a process for tracking internal & external impact.
- Providing support & guidance for physicians & clinical leaders to enhance their interactions with patients around philanthropy.
- Connects prospective grateful patient donors with frontline fundraisers.

QUALIFICATIONS
CFRE designation and/or university degree with five years minimum experience or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience, with demonstrated success in a fundraising environment. Experience in a healthcare or post-secondary setting is an asset.

- Working knowledge of appropriate software applications such as Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Valid BC driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Willingness and ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
