New Westminster, B.C. – A big thank you to TD Bank Group for generously sponsoring our September Cheers to You event at Royal Columbian Hospital. With their support, we were able to bring the treat cart to hospital units, share kettle corn, host activities, and celebrate our incredible staff. Our Cheers to You events are one of the Foundation’s ways of showing appreciation for the dedicated RCH team, and this month’s celebration would not have been possible without TD’s funding.
This is not the first time TD has stepped up for Royal Columbian. In 2021, they contributed $10,000 to support frontline healthcare providers during the COVID-19 pandemic. That gift helped distribute wellness bundles to 1,000 staff and upgrade staff spaces across eleven hospital units.
TD has also made a major investment in cancer care at Royal Columbian. With a $230,000 commitment over two years, they are helping power a clinical validation and pilot study into molecular testing for lung cancer tumours. This initiative has the potential to transform cancer diagnostics by cutting wait times and opening the door to more personalized treatment plans.
