The gift of educating the next generation

New Westminster, B.C. – {December 17, 2021} – Dr. Edward Chan joined the medical staff at Royal Columbian Hospital in 1976. An internist at the hospital, he served our communities for many years as a physician with a specialty in allergy and clinical immunology. As a former nurse, Mrs. Chan shares Dr. Chan’s passion for healthcare, and together, they have made a generous commitment towards the Acute Care Tower that is currently under construction.

While Dr. and Mrs. Chan know that the Acute Care Tower will be incredibly valued by the patients we serve, they also understand the importance of educating the next generation of clinicians. As such, their kind contribution will be directed towards the Clinical Medical Teaching Unit in the Acute Care Tower.

We are very honoured that Dr. and Mrs. Chan have chosen to extend their tremendous legacy by making a philanthropic investment in Royal Columbian Hospital’s future, and their generosity will benefit patients for decades to come.

The new Acute Care Tower is scheduled to be complete in 2025 as part of Royal Columbian Hospital’s $1.49 billion redevelopment. Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation is working with donors to support redevelopment, every step of the way.
