Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie Program Raises Over $12,000 for Royal Columbian Hospital

During the first week of May, Tim Hortons’ locations across the country raised funds for their charity of choice during its annual Smile Cookie Week. Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation (RCHF) was chosen by six locations in New Westminster and Burnaby, and recently presented the Foundation a cheque for $12,362.02 towards the greatest needs of the hospital.

“The staff at Royal Columbian are absolutely tremendous in caring for their community. My family, as well as the families of many on our team, have been on the receiving end of their health services and that makes our Smile Cookie campaign and contribution that much more personal,” said Tim Hortons owner, Lois Swanson.

Teams from several locations came to Royal Columbian Hospital to personally present their cheque and shared that this was the first year they were asked to choose their charity of choice and that RCHF was top of mind. They look forward to this year being the start of a meaningful partnership.

“My family, my teams, our guests, and I, all work and reside in the community and Royal Columbian Hospital is a premier and critical primary health care facility that we all utilize and rely on,” said fellow franchisee, Amanda Kerr. “What a perfect organization to benefit from local community driven fundraising efforts. Thanks for taking care of us!”

Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation is incredibly grateful to everyone who participated from across New Westminster and Burnaby to support RCH and the nearly 2 million people the hospital serves each year.
