Dr. Wilfred and Mrs. Amy Wong make $100,000 gift to support mental health care at RCH

Long-time supporters of Royal Columbian Hospital, Dr. Wilfred and Mrs. Amy Wong have made a generous $100,000 donation to strengthen mental health care for patients in need. Their gift supported the Foundation’s recent Giving Tuesday mental health matching campaign, which raised over $2 million in total.

Dr. Wong, a retired Royal Columbian physician who served on the hospital’s medical staff from 1974 to 1994, has continued to demonstrate his commitment to the hospital’s future through philanthropy. Alongside his wife Amy, he has helped drive improvements in patient care through targeted support for critical priorities, including a previous $100,000 gift in 2021 towards stroke care in the new Jim Pattison Acute Care Tower.

This most recent contribution will directly support programs and initiatives that benefit patients facing mental health and substance use challenges. As demand for these services continues to grow across the region, donor support is essential to ensuring patients receive timely, compassionate, and comprehensive care.

The Foundation is deeply grateful for Dr. and Mrs. Wong’s continued leadership and generosity. Their investment is helping to advance mental health care at Royal Columbian Hospital and improve outcomes for patients and families across British Columbia.
