RCH Foundation announces new Board of Directors for 2015/16
Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce and congratulate the members of its volunteer Board of Directors for 2015/2016. This includes the appointment of Rana Vig as Director, in addition to Colin Galinski, who joined the Board of Directors in April.
The Foundation also offers its sincere appreciation to John Ashbridge, Helen Sparkes and Dr. Laurence Turner, whose nine-year terms on the board have reached their conclusion.
Redevelopment of Royal Columbian Hospital set to begin
A new mental health and substance use facility, outpatient clinics and better care for seniors are part of the first phase of redevelopment of Royal Columbian Hospital.
Health Minister Terry Lake today announced business plan approval for phase one of the redevelopment, with a $249.8 million commitment from the Province and $9.1 million from the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.
Royal Columbian Hospital’s smallest patients benefit from RBC donation

A $20,000 donation to Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation will help provide the right environment for premature babies to get stronger and healthier.
The gift from RBC Foundation will go towards the purchase of a Giraffe Omnibed incubator. This high-tech incubator provides an ideal, stable microenvironment to promote healthy growth in these vulnerable patients.
Foundation head recognized with top fundraising award

Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation President and CEO Jeff Norris is the recipient of the 2014 Giving Hearts Award for Outstanding Professional Fundraiser.
The honour, given by the Vancouver chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, celebrates an individual who supports philanthropy through their professional work as a seasoned fundraising professional. The award was presented during a National Philanthropy Day event on November 14th.

Research grant awarded
Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation is a proud supporter of research efforts at the hospital. The latest study to receive funding will involve patients from the Intensive Care Unit and the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit who have received post-packed red blood cell (PRBC) transfusions. The aim is to better understand the patients’ oxygenation status after the transfusion.

Royal Columbian Hospital redevelopment plans take an exciting step in the right direction
New Westminster, B.C. — April 17, 2013
Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation (RCHF) President and CEO Adrienne Bakker says that the B.C. Government’s announcement to proceed with the business case for redevelopment of RCH is a “very exciting step in the right direction to provide the best in healthcare to British Columbians.”
Commenting on the Health Ministry’s release on Monday, Bakker stated that the announcement provides assurance for donors who are eager to support the long-term vision for RCH and will help inform RCH Foundation’s fundraising plans.
