Proceeds from the 2nd annual 100 Year Journey gala are included in a $30,000 donation presented to Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation’s Cardiac Care Campaign.

The gift to the Foundation will help bring the latest technology and equipment to Royal Columbian Hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab – the busiest in the province and serving the entire Fraser Health region.

Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation wants to bring the latest technology and equipment to the hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab – the busiest in the province and serving the entire Fraser Health region.

The Cardiac Care Campaign has a $3.3 million dollar fundraising goal to upgrade Royal Columbian Hospital’s two cath lab suites, which are available 24/7 for cardiac emergencies like acute heart attacks. The interventional cardiology team performs high-levels of angioplasty to restore blood flow to blocked arteries and conducts angiograms to diagnose heart disease and other cardiac problems.

The start of phase one of the redevelopment of Royal Columbian Hospital moved a step closer today with the issuing of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ).

The RFQ is the first stage in the competitive selection process and invites teams to express their interest in designing and building a new mental health and substance use facility, energy centre and underground parkade. Fraser Health will then identify a shortlist of three teams that will be invited to submit detailed designs.

Family & friends of triplets give back to Royal Columbian NICU

A Ladner family and their friends will purchase a life-saving piece of equipment for premature babies and other fragile newborns at Royal Columbian Hospital, five years after triplet girls received care in the hospital’s Variety Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The Van Marrewyk family collected $55,000 in donations to help Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation buy a jet ventilator, in appreciation of the hospital’s neonatal staff after Ron and Stephanie Van Marrewyk’s daughters Andy, Paige and Shauna were born prematurely at 29 weeks in 2010. The girls spent two months in the neonatal intensive care unit.

RCH Foundation announces new Board of Directors for 2015/16

Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce and congratulate the members of its volunteer Board of Directors for 2015/2016. This includes the appointment of Rana Vig as Director, in addition to Colin Galinski, who joined the Board of Directors in April.

The Foundation also offers its sincere appreciation to John Ashbridge, Helen Sparkes and Dr. Laurence Turner, whose nine-year terms on the board have reached their conclusion.

Redevelopment of Royal Columbian Hospital set to begin

A new mental health and substance use facility, outpatient clinics and better care for seniors are part of the first phase of redevelopment of Royal Columbian Hospital.

Health Minister Terry Lake today announced business plan approval for phase one of the redevelopment, with a $249.8 million commitment from the Province and $9.1 million from the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.
