Royal Columbian Hospital redevelopment plans take an exciting step in the right direction

Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation (RCHF) President and CEO Adrienne Bakker says that the B.C. Government’s announcement to proceed with the business case for redevelopment of RCH is a “very exciting step in the right direction to provide the best in healthcare to British Columbians.”
Commenting on the Health Ministry’s release on Monday, Bakker stated that the announcement provides assurance for donors who are eager to support the long-term vision for RCH and will help inform RCH Foundation’s fundraising plans.
SHINE Gala raises $280,000 in support of Royal Columbian Hospital

More than 400 guests shared the spotlight last night when Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) Foundation hosted its SHINE Gala at the Vancouver Convention Centre, raising $280,000.
Funds raised through the Foundation’s sixth annual event will support the work of RCH Foundation in helping RCH care for seriously ill and injured patients from across British Columbia. Patients like Shannon Gaudette of Abbotsford.

Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) Auxiliary members presented $100,000 to the RCH Breast Imaging and RCH Foundation teams today to help fund a second digital breast imaging machine at RCH to help reduce wait times for breast cancer diagnoses.
“Breast cancer affects so many women and it is such a devastating disease,” says RCH Auxiliary President Marlene Braidwood of the team’s decision to support the Breast Health campaign. “We saw this campaign as a good opportunity for us to help reduce wait lists for breast cancer diagnoses by making another imaging machine available.”
